Plastics Management

Being in charge of the recycling programme in your workplace is never easy, however if you can get a system in place you should find that it simply gets to be second nature rather than something that you need to constantly think about. For this reason, your plastics management strategy needs to be thought about.

There are two main things to consider:

  1. Where the plastics will be stored to allow your staff to recycle during the working day.
  2. Who is going to collect the recycled waste, and when that collection is taking place.

Because storage can sometimes be a problem, it is important to make sure that you have enough space to keep all of the plastic before the collection. If you don’t have enough space, then you may need to arrange a more regular collection, as this would mean that your place of work would no longer be cluttered.

Once your plastics management plan is in place it will become almost like second nature, meaning everything will go to plan, and waste will be greatly reduced. This will have great effects for the environment in the long term, so it is vital that you consider your plan as soon as possible.
